JOHNSTOWN -- Conemaugh Valley graduate Pete Vuckovich was one of the greatest athletes this area has ever seen.
The former Blue Jay went on to star at Clarion University as a right-handed flame thrower on the diamond with a bright future.
Vuckovich was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 1974 and went on to pitch for Toronto, St. Louis, and Milwaukee. Vuckovich won the N.L. Cy Young award with the Brewers in 1982.
